Last week saw us attend two big events back to back, WIRED2015 and the NIH Fitness Convention. Over the last 10 months we’ve found that showcasing at events is one of the best ways to tell more people about what we do, as well as spread the word about how awesome our ebove products are. They also provide a great opportunity for us to get feedback from people from all different walks of life, including gamers and fitness experts.
One bike took a trip to London for WIRED2015 and WIRED: Next Generation. Running over three days from 15-18 October, the conference was an opportunity for thought leaders and key players from across the science, design, digital and business worlds to come together and share their ideas, thoughts and latest innovations in the tech and digital space.
We were invited to be part of WIRED’s Test Lab exhibit, demoing our bike and its VR capabilities to a range of tech enthusiasts and specialists, innovators, entrepreneurs and members of the public. The bike was a big hit with the crowd, with people (young and old!) queuing up to try it out. It was great for us to meet so many other people working in similar fields, and to test some of the other cutting edge tech and gadgets that will soon be hitting the market. Trust us when we say that you have a lot to look forward to and be excited about!
WIRED even included us in a great article about the event, which you can read here.
We also attended the NIH Fitness Convention at the Norwegian School of Sports Sciences (Norges Idrettshøgskole) over the weekend too. We demoed two bikes to a number of guests and students from the fitness industry, which generated some really useful and positive feedback for us.
We added a competition element to our demos for the first time, with each rider challenged to a race around our BMX track. We got some interesting results, with the fastest female rider beating the fastest male rider’s time! A lot of people came to see us who had heard about us from a friend or from another event, so it was great to see that word is spreading about how fun and exciting our ebove concept is.
These types of demo events to consumers, the media and the tech and fitness industries play an important part in both our marketing and our product development as we try to engage more and more people with our ebove concept. We want to lead an exercise revolution that will see people get excited about indoor exercise again and stay motivated whilst keeping fit.
Next we’ll be attending SykkelExpo at Norges Varemesse in Lillestrøm (near Oslo) at the end of this month, from 30 October – 1 November. We’re then heading to Web Summit in Dublin from the 2-4 November, so stay posted for more images and updates from these events!
Ps….We’re also excited to say that we’ve launched our Twitter feed! Make sure you’re following us @Activetainment too 😊
